How terrible! Should armed separatists be called people’s fighters if in fact they raped women and kidnapped children for Rp. 2.35 billion?.
Through a viral video (18/3), the Armed Separatist Group (KSB) threatened to kidnap children, rape women, and kill civilians in Paniai Regency to seize public money of Rp. 2.35 billion!. How terrible! Should armed separatists be called people’s fighters if in fact they raped women and kidnapped children for Rp. 2.35 billion?
In the KSB resistance, women have always been victims of the outrage of armed separatists! What kind of freedom does KSB promise if women in Papua are always the target of rape and sexual harassment? It has been proven, the KSB did not hesitate to kidnap 15 teachers and medical personnel in Nduga (3/10/18), and even took turns raping 1 female teacher! What kind of struggle can the heart to abuse women at will?
Not only women, KSB also makes children aged 14 years into soldiers. How can separatists teach minors to kill, pull the trigger on firearms to kill civilians? Currently they (child soldiers) are fighting under the leader of the armed separatist group, Egianus Kogoya.
KSB who claims to be fighting for the people of Papua, in fact, they are only cold-blooded terror groups that kills, threatens and robs the people of money to gain instant money and power! Look at how the separatist group shot and extorted Rp. 7 million to the crew of SAM Air civil aircraft carrying sick passengers (4/10/2020)! Or how could armed separatists who inhumanely slaughtered 19 Trans Papuan workers who were tied up in a line and then shot brutally and viciously in Nduga.
It is not surprising that UGM researchers have named KSB as the biggest human rights violator in Papua because it has been the main actor behind 1,869 victims of Papuan violence since 2010, only to heat up the issue of Papua. If the issue of Papua is heated, separatists will easily seek sympathy to attract the attention of international parties such as the Green Australian and New Zealand movements and British labor groups, as well as mining and weapons companies that have made money from the conflict in Papua’s independence. With the money obtained from foreign donors plus the spoils of public money, armed separatists can freely buy ammunition for weapons that will be used to kill, terrorize and injure civilians!
Former OPM separatist Nick Messet finally realized that KSB’s actions were not a struggle, but an act of terrorism!
“I have already said that if the KKB is categorized as a terrorist, they have made people fearful … it is right to make (KSB) a terrorist, so that Papuans are not killed.” said Messet.
In the webinar “OPM as a Terrorist Organization”, the Center for Humanitarian Studies and Development (PSKP) has also considered KSB to be designated as a terrorist group.
Efriza, S.IP., M.Sc., Executive Director of the Center for Humanitarian Studies and Development (PSKP), said that the victims of the atrocities of armed separatist groups were not only the authorities, but many Papuans themselves lost their lives because of the actions carried out by the organization.
Open your eyes wide! The separatists who have been boasting about the Papuan struggle are actually using the guise of a fake struggle to earn Rp. 2.35 billion and power alone. Can we allow children and women to be mortgaged by KSB?[]
