Support for the continuation of the Special Autonomy (Otsus) policy in Papua continues to arrive. One of them came from the Head of RT 2 Kampung Wanggar Makmur, Nabire Yance Agapa.

According to him, so far the Otsus policy has helped many people in Papua. He also thanked the central government for continuing the policy on Cenderawasih Earth.

“The program really helps the welfare of the community, especially Papuan Indigenous People”

Meanwhile, for people who have not felt the positive effects of Otsus, this is because the local government has not carried out socialization and is not open about the number and use.

In the future, it is hoped that the special autonomy funds can go directly to villages so that village officials and the community can experience it directly and use it for village development, both physical development and human resource development.

Yance also provided support regarding the plan for regional expansion in Papua. This needs to be encouraged because it can increase regional development and improve the welfare of the Papuan people.

The same thing was also conveyed by the female figure of Kampung Samabusa, Nabire Monica Maniawasi. According to him, the special autonomy policy is a good idea from the central government for the Papuan people.

However, according to him, until now many people do not really know what Otsus is because of the lack of transparency from the Regional Government regarding Otsus.

For this reason, he hopes that an evaluation will be carried out first, before the Otsus volume II rolls out. Thus, the objectives of implementing Otsus can be achieved properly. And the distribution of Otsus funds is more targeted and directly touches the community in the village.

With these various supports, it shows the high expectations of the Papuan people for the sustainability of Otsus Papua. It is hoped that with the preparation of the latest regulations related to the implementation of Otsus Papua, the benefits obtained by the Papuan people will be felt in real terms.

It is hoped that by doing so, the quality of education, public health facilities, and various other life supports can improve, so that the value of human resources in Papua will increase.
