Security in Papua has recently been disturbed by terrorist armed criminal groups or KKB. Therefore, the TNI-Polri are encouraged to crush the KKB terrorists to their roots. The people’s representatives also gave full support to the TNI-Polri.
This is as stated by the Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI Syarief Hasan. He said his party fully supports the crackdown on KKB. According to him, the purpose of this group is to disrupt.
This Democrat Party politician assesses that there is no room for dialogue with the group. So that the TNI-Polri need not hesitate to take complete countermeasures. According to him, the KKB is an enemy of the state and the people of Indonesia, so it should be crushed down to the roots.
The government is known to have made many efforts to accelerate development in Papua and West Papua.
“Over the past 20 years, the government has disbursed an allocation of Special Autonomy funds and additional infrastructure funds (DTI) for Papua and West Papua amounting to Rp138.65 trillion”
This, according to him, is an affirmative policy and development priority that explains the government’s commitment to developing the Papua and West Papua regions to advance and compete like other regions in Indonesia.
According to Syarief, with the Otsus and DTI funding instruments, physical and non-physical development, infrastructure, and human resources should run well and quickly. “When huge Special Autonomy and DTI funds were allocated to Papua and West Papua, the reality is that acts of terror never stop. This shows the KKB only aims to disrupt and terrorize,” he said.
According to him, if things like that happen, then there is no other way for the TNI-Polri than to carry out a more decisive counterterrorism. He said that if the terror continues, the victims from the apparatus and civilians will continue to fall, resulting in the KKB.
Therefore, he continued, KKB must be crushed down to its roots. Syarief believes that the people of Papua and West Papua really yearn for peace, economic activity, worship, and social life in general to run safely and peacefully.
“What KKB has done has taken the people’s happiness away. This heinous act of armed gangs will only hinder the development that the government is promoting.”
Syarief said the KKB’s actions clearly showed that the aim was only terror, kidnapping, murder, and treason. Therefore, it is time for the TNI-Polri to redefine their duties and roles in saving civilians and defending the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia.
