The Papuan People Support the Success of PON XX and the Sustainability of the Special Autonomy Law

All Papuans support the implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua. The presence of PON in Papua deserves appreciation because the central government has trusted Papua to host a national multi-event.
A Central Mountains community leader, Sem Kogoya, stated that he was ready to oversee the implementation of the PON until the last day, October 15, 2021. According to him, PON is a big goal which is an achievement and trust given by the central government to the land of Papua.
Sem Kagoya said that he and the Papuan people will oversee the PON because he believes this process will promote sports achievements in Papua, development in Papua and will also encourage the revival of sports and the Papuan economy.
“We give our appreciation and gratitude to Mr. President who has given the opportunity and trust to the people of the land of Papua to host the PON”
Sem Kogoya also said that the issue of Free Papua was only used as a project to attract attention. He hoped that there would be no issue of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) and the Papuan Criminal Group (KKP) during the PON.
These counter-government actions will ultimately harm the Papuan people at large. If it is judged that there is a deficiency in the state’s attitude to the Papuan people, then convey it in good ways, according to Kogoya.
Not only that, Sem Kagoya and all Papuans also support Volume Two of Special Autonomy (Otsus) which was extended this year. They support the sustainability of the program because they have felt the benefits to encourage the progress of Papua.
The second volume of the Special Autonomy Program, which started in 2001, is aimed specifically at the people of Earth of Cendrawasih. The Regional Government receives funds that benefit the Papuan people in the fields of education, health, and community sector development.
The community supports Otsus Volume two because the distribution is not only for education, but also for health. With the Special Autonomy funds, it is possible to build a Puskesmas and a hospital with sufficient equipment, so that people do not have to go all the way to Jayapura or Merauke for treatment. The Special Autonomy budget can also be used to eradicate malaria and tuberculosis which are endemic in Papua.
Otsus Volume II in Papua is an excellent program for modernity on the Earth of Cendrawasih. So that people are more advanced, healthy, and smart. Because the Special Autonomy funds are not only made for the construction of roads and other infrastructure, but also for the health and education sectors.
