The action carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Puncak Regency area continues. On Sunday (25/4), the Head of Regional BIN (Kabinda) Papua, Major General Posthumous TNI I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha died in a shootout in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak. The separatist group’s violence adds to the long record of acts of violence that have resulted in casualties in Papua.
Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Protestant Church (GPI) Papua Mimika, Pastor Ferdinans C. Hakubun, also regretted the KKB action which not only killed TNI soldiers, but also sacrificed civilians and damaged public facilities, as well as people’s homes.
Reverend Hakubun stated that he deeply regretted what the KKB had done, because it was considered very inhumane.
“The series of acts of violence carried out by the KKB were inhumane and caused anxiety and fear in the local community”
Due to this incident, he hopes that the TNI, Polri and Government will immediately enforce the rule of law in order to provide proper education for all Indonesian citizens. Law enforcement against the KKB is considered as a form of the principle of justice for all Indonesian people. This is because those who have become victims of the KKB violence are not only law enforcers, but also many civilians.
In fact, the people who are victims are actually the parties who are actually present in Papua, especially in Puncak Regency to educate children of the Papuan generation who will build their own ancestral lands in the future.
Pastor Hakubun also invited and appealed to all residents, especially those who live in the land of Cendrawasih, to jointly fight against KKB crimes and protect the land of Papua to always be safe and peaceful according to the philosophy of “Papeda” Papua is Full of Peace.
Furthermore, he invited the community to live in love and peace in the land of Papua, to be a blessing for God, others, and to make differences within the framework of the Republic of Indonesia, Bhineka Tunggal Ika.
Regarding the victims of Kabinda Papua, Reverend Hakubun said that the deceased was someone who loved Papua, and he was also loved by the Papuan people. However, irresponsible groups have tarnished and damaged the image of the Papuan people.
As it is known, a series of acts of terror was carried out by KKB on Thursday (8/4) with the victim being a teacher, Oktavianus Rayo. Afterwards, on Friday (9/4), it was KKB’s turn to shoot another teacher named Yonatan Randen. An ojek driver named Udin also did not escape the KKB target, who was shot dead on Wednesday (14/4). And only a day later, Thursday (15/4) KKB shot another high school student named Ali Mom. Furthermore, on Sunday (25/4) Kabinda Papua, Posthumous TNI Major General I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha also died as a result of the KKB.
Most recently, a firefight in Mayuberi Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency on Tuesday (27/4) at around 08.00 WIT killed a police officer named Bharada I Komang Wira Natha and injured his colleague. Meanwhile from the KKB, five people were killed.
